Conveyor transport

Conveyor transport is the broad category of transport that includes modes developed from the idea of a conveyor belt. Examples include:

In Hong Kong, tens of thousands of commuters travel each work day between the Central District (a financial district) and the Mid-levels (a residential district hundreds of feet up Victoria Peak) using a long distance escalator/moving sidewalk combination. It goes only one way at a time; the direction reverses depending on rush hour traffic direction. See Central-Mid-Levels escalator and Transportation in Hong Kong. It is also used at the interchange stations at Central-Hong Kong MTR stations, and Tsim Sha Tsui-East Tsim Sha Tsui MTR and East Rail stations.
