Coulomb barrier

The Coulomb barrier, named after Coulomb, is the electrostatic repulsion of two point charges. Overcoming the Coulomb barrier is essential for achieving nuclear fusion.

k = Coulomb's constant = <math>8.9876x10^9<math>
e = charge of electron = <math>4.8032x10^{-10}<math>
r = separation
