Egil Olsen

   

Egil Roger Olsen, (Born 22. april 1942)nicknamed "Drillo", probably the most successful manager in the history of the Norwegian national football team, coached the team from 1990 to 1998, guiding them to World Cup final tournaments in 1994 and 1998.

He was also a successful player with 16 caps. His nickname "Drillo" means "The dribler" in a slang sort of way.

Active career: 16 caps(1964-71). Clubs: Østsiden (1958-65), Vålerenga (1966-67), Sarpsborg (1968-71), Frigg (1972-74) og Hasle/Løren (1975). Manager of: Frigg (1972-74, 1978-79, 1981-83), Hasle/Løren (1975), Østsiden (1976-78), U21- national team (1979-85), Fossum (1983-84), Lyn (1986-88), Aalesund (1989), U23-national team (1990), National Team(1990-98. 88 matches; 46 victories, 26 draws, 16 losses, goals: 168-63), Vålerenga (1998-99), Wimbledon (1999-2000), G19-national team (2003-04).
