Gene Austin

   

Gene Austin (June 24, 1900 - January 24, 1972) was an American singer and songwriter. Austin was born in Gainesville, Texas.

Gene Austin became enormously popular in the late 1920s. His recording of "My Blue Heaven" was reputed to be a million seller. Austin's writing credits include "When My Sugar Walks Down The Street", "The Lonesome Road" and 'Ridin' Around In The Rain".
