Gentiva Health Services

An American health care company, Gentiva Health Services is the largest provider of home health and specialty pharmaceutical services in the United States. Publicly traded (Nasdaq: GTIV)[1] (http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=gtiv), Gentiva is a Fortune 1000 company with $1.4 billion in 2001 revenue. The company provides health services in nearly every state in the nation and maintains over 300 locations nationally.

In 2002, Gentiva sold its specialty pharmaceutical services division to Accredo Health Inc. (Nasdaq: ACDO) for $415 million in cash and stock; the transaction was one of the largest health care acquisitions of the decade [2] (http://www.biospace.com/news_story.cfm?StoryID=7420415&full=1).

Gentiva is headquartered in Long Island, New York.
