Hasselt

Hasselt is a municipality of the province of Limburg (and its capital), in Flanders, one of the three regions of Belgium. On January 1st, 2004 Hasselt had a total population of 69,127 (33,785 males and 35,342 females). The total area is 102.24 km² which gives a population density of 676.13 inhabitants per km².

The city is known for its free public transport.
