Koga (InuYasha)

Koga (鋼牙 Kōga) is a character in the anime and manga series InuYasha.

Koga is a wolf yōkai, and he is the leader of his tribe. After Kagura killed off members of his tribe, Koga began a quest to kill her and Naraku, who ordered it. When adventuring, he is accompanied by two lieutenants from his tribe. In the manga, they are unnamed. In the anime, they are named Ginta and Hakkaku.

Both he and InuYasha hold a rivalry over Kagome Higurashi's affection. Koga has been in love with her ever since he found out that she can see the shards of the Jewel of Four Souls (Shikon no Tama) a.k.a. the Shikon Jewel. In the anime series, he is also betrothed to Ayame, of the northern wolf tribes (a character that does not exist in the manga version).

Name

• Kōga means "steel fang."

Attacks

• Shikon shards - Koga has two shards of the Jewel of Four Souls in his legs that enhance his speed. (This also makes him a target for Naraku.)
• Whirlwind - He can move so fast that he can create a whirlwind.
• Wolf-tribe leader - He is leader of the wolf yōkai and can call them to help.
• Goraishi - a claw he earns from his ancestor spirits so that he can avenge his comrades and destroy Naraku but he only gets one use. It shields him, barely, from Naraku's corruption of the jewel. (Not in the anime, which ends before this point in the manga)
