• XP-59 – 1942 October 1 first jet-powered aircraft to fly in the US.
• P-59 Airacomet – first fighter aircraft built in the U.S. during World War II.
• P-80 Shooting Star– early 1945 it became the first operational jet fighter used by the United States Army Air Force.
• FH-1 Phantom was a twin-engine jet fighter aircraft designed during World War II for the United States Navy
• F2H Banshee A mock-up of the new fighter, designated XF2D-1, was completed in April 1945.

British

• Gloster E.28/39 – 1941 May 15 became the first jet engined aircraft to fly in the United Kingdom.
• Gloster Meteor – 1944, July 12 Entered Service with the RAF. Saw action for the first time on July 27 1944 against the V1 Flying Bomb.
• De Havilland Vampire was the second jet engined aircraft commissioned by the RAF during WW II.

• Heinkel He 178 – was the world's first aircraft to fly under turbojet power, and the first practical jet plane.
• Heinkel He 280 – first jet-powered fighter aircraft built in the world.
• Henschel Hs 132 – world's first jet interceptor dive bomber. The Red Army overran the factory before the first test flight.
• Junkers Ju 287 – Forward Swept Wing Bomber
• Gotha Go 229 – also known as Horten Ho IX, A flying wing with turbojet engines.
