List of towns in Wisconsin

The term town is used in Wisconsin in the same way as the township is used in many other states. Towns are unincorporated minor civil divisions of counties, although there is a town board usually consisting of 3 supervisors. The town board may have up to 5 members if the board is authorized to exercise the powers of a village or if the town population is greater than 2,500.

Frequently a village or city may have the same name as a town. There are 1,266 towns, some sharing the same name.

This is the list of towns, and their respective counties, and it is current as of 2002, as taken from the Wisconsin state government's Department of Administration.
