Nippon Telegraph and Telephone

   

Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (日本電信電話 Nippon Denshin Denwa) is a telephone company that dominates the telecommunication market in Japan. Once established as a monopoly public corporation, commonly known as denden kosha, the company was later privatized to encourage competition in the telecom market.

As a group corporation, it consists of the following major companies:

  • NTT East
  • NTT West
  • NTT Data
  • NTT DoCoMo (mobile operator)
  • NTT Communications
