Northern Lights is a common name for the polar aurorae in the northern hemisphere.

Northern Lights, the first book in Philip Pullman's fantasy trilogy, His Dark Materials. The book is known as The Golden Compass in the United States.

Northern Lights, a song by Renaissance from the album A Song for All Seasons (1978) which became a surprise hit when released as a single. The song refers not to the aurorae but to the lights of England's northern cities which the narrator is leaving behind.
