Paul Doumer (March 22, 1857 - May 7, 1932) was the President of France from June 13, 1931 to his death.

Born in Aurillac, in the Cantal département, in France.

He was Governor General of Indochina from 1897 to 1902.

He was elected President of the French Republic on May 13, 1931, defeating Aristide Briand.

On may 6, 1932, he was assassinated in Paris at the opening of a book fair by Paul Gorguloff, a Russian emigre. He died at 04:37 a.m. on May 7.
