Robert Gray

   

Robert Gray (1755-1806). Born in America, he was the first American to circumnavigate the globe, in 1790. In 1791 he sailed a ship named "Columbia" to the Northwest coast, he sighted, named, and sailed up the Columbia River in Oregon.
