Run
The word run can mean several things:
- Run has many dictionary definitions such as "moving swiftly by foot". See Running, and "Run" in Wiktionary.
- A run in a stream or river is a fairly smooth flowing segment or part of the flow differentiated from a pool where the water is deeper and slower moving, and a riffle where the flow is shallower and more turbulent.
- Run in computer programming terms means to execute a program. See List of computer programming terms.
- A run is the unit of scoring in the sport of cricket. See cricket statistics.
- A run, in baseball statistics, is a point scored. See run (baseball statistics).
- A bank run is a mass withdrawal of money from a bank.
- A run is a New Zealand term for a landholding corresponding to a ranch.
- A run is a small enclosure used for the excersize of (normally caged) domesticated rodents such as rabbits and guinea pigs. typically used on grass.
- Run was a computer magazine published in the 1980's. See Run magazine.
- Run is also the name of a 1991 action movie directed by Geoff Burrowes and starring Patrick Dempsey and Kelly Preston. See Run (movie).
- Run is the stage name of Joseph Simmons, a member of hip hop group Run-DMC.
