Scarlet (color)

Scarlet is a color with a hue between red and orange. It is redder than vermilion. The emission spectra for compounds of strontium are considered to be in the scarlet red area of the visible light spectrum. The emission lines occur at 640.8 nm, 650.4 nm, 687.8 nm and 707.0 nm.

Use in popular culture

Miss Scarlet is a character in the popular board game Cluedo originally by Waddington Games.

Captain Scarlet is the main character in the Gerry Anderson children's television production of the same name.

The Ferrari F1 racing team color is scarlet.
