Special Services Group

   

Pakistan Army independent commando detachment: Officially numbers 2,100 men, in 3 companies, however actual strength is classified. Based out of Cherat and Attock, the SSG started out as an irregular warfare unit called, the 19th Baluch in the 1960’s. Today, it consists of an anti-terrorist, hostage rescue Musa Company, along with a diver attachment, mountain warfare, parachute infantry, desert warfare and other specialized units. SSG commandoes are routinely seconded to the Directorate of Inter Service Intelligence (ISI) for clandestine missions.
