Taxi
Taxi may mean:
- A form of public transportation: see taxicab.
- An American television comedy: see Taxi.
- The title of a number of movies
- The best known of which is Taxi Driver
- Another is Luc Besson's Taxi from 1998
- A 2004 Taxi movie featured Jimmy Fallon and is a remake of Besson's film
- A Romanian pop band -- see Taxi.
- An air taxi (charter jet) is a bizjet.
- A water taxi is a small boat that transports passengers on water.
- A verb describing the movement of an aircraft between runways, or between a hangar or terminal and a runway. The paved surfaces on which aircraft taxi are called taxiways.
- An oriented locomotion in a gradient, usually of simple organisms (chemotaxis, magnetotaxis, ...)
- An Australian exclamation, normally heard in pubs, clubs and bars following an act of discoordination (i.e. spilling drinks or breaking glasses). Suggesting that the uncoordinated party should probably be put in a taxi and sent home immediately.
