Telcordia Technologies

Telcordia Technologies, formerly Bellcore, is an american telecommunications company created in 1984 after the breakup of AT&T. It was split off from the original Bell Labs as part of the negotiated consent decree with the US government, and served R&D and standards setting functions for the resulting seven Baby Bells.

In 1997, Telcordia was acquired by Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). The stake was subsequently sold in November 2004 to Providence Equity Partners and Warburg Pincus, who currently both hold equal stakes in the company.

The main business is the provision of Operations and Support Systems (OSS) and Intelligent Network systems to telecommunications operators. Telcordia have customers in both the fixed line and wireless markets.
