The book tells teens that school's rigid format is terrible and that anyone has the capacity and ability to quit school and become unschooled. Unschooling isn't just where someone is not educated. Unschooling is where kids choose their subject matter and teach themselves about it, with a parent as a facilitator. Unschooling incorporates many of the views originally espoused by John Holt.
