Trindade is a volcanic island lying off the eastern coast of Brazil in the Atlantic. It lies along the line of a number of submarine volcanic features, and is more than halfway to the mid-Atlantic ridge. The island has numerous volcanic centres, with the most recent activity taking place at Vulcao de Paredao at the south-eastern most point of the island. That activity consisted of pyroclastic flows which built up a cinder cone.
