Tsuen Wan

   

Tsuen Wan (荃灣區) is one of the 18 districts of Hong Kong. It is located in the New Territories and is served by the Tsuen Wan Line of the MTR metro system. Population (2000): 290,500.

Tsuen Wan district is part of Tsuen Wan New Town.

Sights

The Sam Tung Uk Museum was set up in a former Hakka walled village.

Islands

The following islands of Hong Kong are administratively part of the district:

  • Cheung Sok (長索)
  • Ma Wan (馬灣)
  • Ngam Hau Shek (岩口石)
  • Pun Shan Shek (半山石)
  • Tang Lung Chau (燈籠洲)

Transportation

There are two railways serving the town:

Park Island Transport Co., Ltd. operates bus services between Park Island on Ma Wan Island and Tsing Yi MTR station, Ma Wan and Kwai Fong, and a ferry service between Ma Wan and Central and between Ma Wan and Tsuen Wan West (next to the KCRC station).

There are also tens of bus routes serving Tsuen Wan, mostly operated by Kowloon Motor Bus. Citybus also operated a few.
