Ulstein
The municipality Ulstein in the county of Møre og Romsdal, Norway, has 6,761 inhabitants as of January 1, 2004.
The community centre of Ulstein is Ulsteinvik which has approximately 4,500 inhabitants.
Ulsteinvik is the home town for the former Ulsteinkonsernet (The Ulstein Concern), a worldwide supplier of maritime equipment. In May 1999 the concern was bought by Vickers Marine, and in August the latter was bought by Rolls Royce. Today, the head office of Rolls Royce Commercial Marine is located in Ulsteinvik. In addition to the head office, Ulsteinvik also hosts a RRCM plant for thrusters and gears, and a RRCM design office primarly for offshore wessels.
